The meaning of this enclitic is 'also' or 'too'. Note the difference between this enclitic and *{lu}:

The form with initial [s] arises from regular assibilation by a true /i/ in the preceding word.

    Indicating that someone else also wants that. Compare: uangalu pisiniarfimmukarniarpunga, 'and I want to go to the store', indicating that I also want to do something else.

  • palasissaaq, also the priest [11]

    The /t/ becoming /s/ here is the result of assibilation (the t-to-s rule) caused by the preceding true /i/.

  • ilississaaq, you too [14]

    From ilissi, 'you' (plural). The /t/ is assibilated to /s/ by the true /i/ in the stem.

  • oqarlunissaaq, he too said [14]

    From oqarluni, 'he said', with the intransitive contemporative 4sg ending V{(l)luni}. The /t/ is assibilated to /s/ by the true /i/ in the stem.
