Description and behaviour
Form and usage:
The meaning of this affix is 'Subject Vb well' or 'good' or similar, in a positive sense.
This is a very common morpheme.
It is often also used in the imperative mood, i.e. 'Vb well!' for wishes, e.g. 'farewell!', 'sleep well!' (for 'good night'), 'spend the day well!' (for 'have a good day'), and so on.
Right sandhi:
Note that this affix may have aq-drop with vowel-initial affixes, especially V{-(cc)ut(ə)}V and V{-(g)innaq}V, for example:
- V{(l)luaq}V + V{-(cc)ut(ə)}V ⇒ /(l)luut(ə)/.
See also the combination V{(l)luinnaq}V.
