Description and behaviour
Form and usage:
The meaning of this stem is 'edge of the hand'.
It is normally recorded as a k-stem nowadays, but for some reason, it is listed as a q-stem in some older dictionaries, such as Schultz-Lorentzen [CWSL58], who writes it as arfaĸ.
However, according to the Comparative Eskimo Dictionary [MFSJLK10], it derives from a morpheme {aʀvaɣ}, so the k-stem form does indeed seem to be the original.
