Form and usage:

The basic meaning of this stem is 'sinew', either within a body, or as a thread used for sewing. According to Kleinschmidt [SK71], a derived meaning is also 'strength', similar to {nukək}N.

In older dictionaries [SK71], [CWSL58], [JP67], there is also a vowel-stem variant, ujalu, but this form is not used in the newer Oqaatsit dictionary [CBBJRPIKJR97], so we do not record that form here.
