Description and behaviour
Form and usage:
This is the allative marker for demonstrative pronouns and adverbials. Note that the ending itself does not show number; for adverbials, there is no number, and for pronouns, the number is shown by the inflectional stem, rather than by the ending.
Left sandhi:
The morpheme has two different forms:
- {uŋa} is the form used on demonstrative adverbials. It attaches directly to the demonstrative root.
- {uŋŋa} is the form used on demonstrative pronouns, attached on top of the inflectional stem, i.e. {cum}{uŋŋa} in singular, resp. {kun}{uŋŋa} in plural.
