Description and behaviour

Form and usage:

This is the intransitive indicative 3pl ending, formed from the mood marker {vu} and the 3pl person marker {'-t}. This person marker appears to be similar to the absolutive plural marker on nominal weak q-stems, i.e. N{t}, and the single /v/ therefore appears to geminate to /vv/, which become [pp] in all cases where there is no preceding stem-final consonant to attach to, which would suppress gemination. To encode this behaviour, we therefore write this ending with an initial, epenthetic (v).
