This is the transitive interrogative 2sg/3sg ending, denoting 'do thou Vb it?'.
The mood marker is {vi}.
The marker for the 2sg Subject is not present here, so it is indicated by the null morpheme.
The marker for the 3sg Object is {guk}, which has the special rule that /g/ ⇒ /j/ when it follows a vowel.
Here, the vowel is /i/, so the /j/ will become inaudible in this context.
Thus
- {vi}{Ø}{guk} ⇒ /vijuk/ ⇒ -viuk.
However, the /j/ will reappear, when the ending contracts due to ə-contraction, because the /i/ then will be assimilated to [a]. Consider, for example:
- N{-gə}V + V{vijuk} ⇒ /gəvijuk/ ⇒ /gəijuk/ ⇒ -gaajuk.
