Description and behaviour

Form and usage:

According to [MFSJLK10], the meaning of this morpheme is/was 'might' or 'so as to'. Note that the form {na} is PE, and in older combinations containing this morpheme, it therefore appears with initial /n/.

However, in the Inuit branch (PI), it appears to have developed the form {ga} in some contexts. For example, in West Canadian Inuit, it takes the form {ga} following /k/ and /q/. Thus, derivatives of/containing this morpheme may have either form, and we therefore record both forms here, although it should be noted that according to [MFSJLK10], only the {na} form is PE, whereas the form {ga} is only PI.
