Form and usage:

The meaning of this morpheme is/was 'ask' or 'tell' someone to Vb. The authors of [MFSJLK10] suggest it might be from a combination of +{t}V + +{rqə}V, but this does not seem obviously certain from the meanings, so we do not record it as a combination here.

Note: the final vowel in the daughter languages in the Inuit branch is /u/, rather than /ə/. This may be from a combination with some other morpheme, e.g. like in Kalaallisut N{-gə}V + V{-guk} ⇒ /guuk/ with the 3sg/sg imperative ending, which may be a remnant of the same sound process. However, what this process may have been is not clear.
