Description and behaviour

Form and usage:

According to [MFSJLK10], the meaning of this morpheme is/was 'can not'. For the first component, they suggest it might be from an unattested morpheme {*gi}, which they also hypothesise may have been used in suppletion with +{ði}V in the sense of 'have something unwanted happen to one'. For the second component, they suggest the negation +{ŋit}V. We record the latter here as the second component, but since the first component has no separate entry in the Comparative Eskimo Dictionary, we record it here as an unknown morpheme.
