Description
Form and usage:
This affix is an extension of superlative V{nəq}N with a morpheme {caq}, which historically may be the same as partitive N{taq}N, although the form here is unexplained in Fortescue et al. (2010). Given the partitive meaning of this affix, we shall record this as a combination of the aforementioned morphemes, albeit with the caveat that the change of /t/ to /c/ is unexplained.
Left sandhi:The first morpheme in this combination is V{nəq}N, so this affix it inherits the ə-eliding left-sandhi of this morpheme. See that for examples of ə-elision.
