Description
Form:
According to the Comparative Eskimo Dictionary, this stem derives from {kəcit-}, 'count (them)', corresponding to the modern-day form kisippai.
The HTR-form is kisitsivoq with HTR-morpheme {ði}, which regularly takes the form -tsivoq on true t-stems.
The final /tə/ is not explained in the CED, but it may possibly be a variant form of V{-utə}N, 'tool/means for Vb'ing', without the initial /u/, which seemingly appears in a number of cases when following {ði}. See also {niggitə}N, {ənatcitə}N, {əkətcitə} and {aullaitə}N.
The stem regularly assibilates the final /t/ to /s/ before both affixes and endings, due to the preceeding true /i/.
