Description

Form and usage:

This affix is a nominal variant of V{(l)luinnaq}V. It is similarly formed through combination of {l(l)u(C)aʀ-} and {ŋinnaʀ(-)}, i.e. V{(l)luaq}V and N{-(g)innaq}N, where the latter has caused /aq/ to drop from the former. Curiously, V{(l)luaq}V is here used on nominal stems, even though this usage appear outside of this special combination affix. This may also explain why the epenthetic consonant here is (q), rather than (l) as in the verbal affix V{(l)luaq}V.
