Proto-eskimoic root: tu(C)aʀ

Description

Form and usage:

The forms with initial /s/ are caused by assibilation by a preceding /i/ (the t-to-s rule). There may be a relation to N{-tuaq}N, although the proto-eskimoic reconstructed form indicates that they are two different morphemes. There is also a combination with V{llaq}V, i.e. V{llatuaq}V, with seemingly no difference in meaning.

Verb stem

Right sandhi: Regular
Valency: Valency-preserving
Diathesis: Unaltered (same as the stem)
