Description and behaviour
Form and usage:
The meaning of this affix is: 'bad, despicable, evil N' or some variant thereof. Kleinschmidt [9] writes:
- "It always expresses more or less disgust, and is approximately the harshest word, which can be said of anyone/anything in Kalaallisut. [...] That it is used as a swear-word is easy to perceive. On the other hand, it is also used by some in a much weaker sense about their own belongings, and with N{ŋŋuaq}N also in an almost endearing sense."
For the latter combination, see N{-piluŋŋuaq}N. Note also the verbal variant of the present affix, V{-piluk}V, with a related meaning.
