Description and behaviour

Form and usage:

This affix is mentioned in Schultz-Lorentzen [11], but seemingly nowhere else. Hence, it is likely not productive. It is translated as 'Actor shows himself as an N'.

The origin of this affix is unclear. Schultz-Lorentzen relates it to V{(n)niq}V, but that affix attaches to verbal stems, whereas the present affix attaches to noun stems. The second part is unexplained, but it could be from some morpheme V{saaq}V or, with assibilation, V{taaq}V, but there does not seem to be one that fits with the meaning. Hence, we must regard this suggested origin as dubious, and we therefore do not record it as a combination.

Meanings and examples
