Form and usage:
This is a non-productive affix mentioned in Ordbogeeraq [12] and Schultz-Lorentzen [11].
The latter defines it as 'Subject Vb a little', perhaps 'briefly' or 'lightly', and relates it to V{llatciaq}V.
According to the Comparative Eskimo Dictionary [16], it derives from a morpheme {vlaɣ-} or {vəlaɣ-}, although it is not clear how the present form is derived from this. For this reason, we write the first consonant as /ə/, although this has no practical effect nowadays, since this vowel will always take the sound [i].
