Description and behaviour

Form and usage:

The meaning of this stem is 'letter/mail'. In older usage it would only be used in plural, even when referring to a single letter, but in modern usage it can also be singular.

This is the passive participle form of {aŋlak}V, 'write'. Note that this combination is lexicalised, and non-standardly formed by the modern-day rules, since V{-ðaq}N has attached to the final consonant of the stem, here becoming /g/, rather than removing it. This seems to be more common with old combinations.

Right sandhi:

Right sandhi is inherited from the right-most component, V{-ðaq}N. See this for details.
