Description and behaviour
Form and usage:
According to Kleinschmidt [14], the meaning of this stem is a clear cut down into something, but provincially it is used in the sense of 'crotch', i.e. the point where the torso forks to form the legs. However, the Comparative Eskimo Dictionary [22] records the meaning 'crotch' as primary.
Inflection sandhi:
The stem has gemination of an unwritten consonant between /ua/. In the form recorded here, we indicate this unwritten consonant as (j).
