Description and behaviour

Form and usage:

The meaning of this stem is 'an old' person or animal. It is not used of old things; for that, the combination {pi}N + N{-tuqaq}Npisoqaq would be used instead.

According to the Comparative Eskimo Dictionary [21], the present stem may also derive from the affix N{-tuqaq}N, but the authors are not certain of the origin, so we do not record it here as a combination.
