Description and behaviour
Left sandhi:
The form with initial [s] arise from regular assibilation by a true /i/ in the preceding word.
Meanings and examples
or 'too', or 'likewise' etc. Notice the difference between this enclitic and *{lu}: uangalu is 'and me' but uangattaaq is 'me too'.
- uangattaaq, me too
[4]
- uangattaaq pisiniarfimmukarniarpunga, I too want to go to the store
Indicating that someone else also wants that. Compare: uangalu pisiniarfimmukarniarpunga, 'and I want to go to the store', indicating that I also want to do something else.
- palasissaaq, also the priest
[4]
The /t/ becoming /s/ here is the result of assibilation (the t-to-s rule) caused by the preceding true /i/.
