Meanings and examples
- Kaali Piitarluuniit, Kaali or Piitaq
When used on interrogative words like kina? 'who?', it means `any-', e.g. 'anyone, anytime, whenever' etc.
- kinaluunniit ilinniagaqarsinnaavoq, anyone can learn something
Or 'get an education'.
In combination with a negation it means 'not even' or 'not at all'.
- Sininngilangaluunniit, I have not slept at all
From sininngilanga, 'I have not slept'.
- Inoqanngilaq, Piitarluunniit, There were no people (at all), not even Peter.
From inoqanngilaq, 'there are no people'.
When used in combination with V{galuaq}V + conditional mood.
- Sumiuugaluaruttaluunniit, Even though we are from anywhere
Or in ordinary English: 'No matter where we are from'.
