Description and behaviour
Form and usage:
The meaning of this stem is 'yesterday' or 'the day before' the current time of reference, i.e. the day being spoken of. According to the Comparative Eskimo Dictionary [MFSJLK10], it consists of a stem {ikpaq}, that has not been inherited on its own in Kalaallisut, but only as part of the present combination with N{kcaq}N. Thus, we record the first component as unknown here.
Right sandhi:
Right sandhi is inherited from the right-most component, N{kcaq}N. See this for details.
Inflection
Inflection pattern:

| Inflection sandhi: | Weak stem, Default/none, p-declined |

Notes on inflection:
The final morpheme in this combination is N{kcaq}N, so this stem theoretically inflects similarly. However, in practice it is only used in un-possessed absolutive singular, and in the locative case. Note that in the locative case, it is always used with a possessive ending, i.e.
- {ikpakcaq}N + N{LOC.3sg/sg} ⇒ ippassaani.
The possessor is not mentioned explicitly, but it is likely understood to be 'this day'.
