Description and behaviour
Form and usage:
The meaning of this stem is 'little sister (to a male)'. Thus, if someone refers to a female as najaga, 'my little sister', it implies that the speaker is a man. For 'younger sibling of the same gender' (i.e. 'little sister to a female' or 'little brother to a male') see {nukaq}N.
Inflection sandhi:
The stem inflects like a regular k-stem with up-declension. However, note the variant absolutive possessive 4sg/sg form /nainni/, with the ending N{'-i} which causes /VC/ drop and compensatory gemination (or perhaps rather interpolation/ of /j/ ⇒ /inn/, similar to the gemination pattern of {qajaq}N. This form is amongst other places documented in Kleinschmidt [SK71] and Schultz-Lorentzen [CWSL51].
