Form and usage:
The meaning of this stems is 'frog' or 'toad'. According to the Comparative Eskimo Dictionary [MFSJLK10], the word was borrowed into the Inuit languages from Athabascan. Kleinschmidt borrowed the word from Labrador [SK71], presumably for his translation of the bible.
