Description and behaviour
Form and usage:
According to Kleinschmidt [SK71], the meaning of this stem is 'go up', but it is only used in two specific senses:
- Of sea-dwelling animals (fish, seals etc.) that move upwards, towards the surface, or move from a lake and up into a stream etc.
- Of clouds gathering on the horizon (building up to a storm). This might be a calque of a Danish expression: det trækker op (til uvejr), literally 'it pulls up'.
In his addition to Kleinschmidt's dictionary, Rasmussen [CR93] adds a third meaning, which also appears in Schultz-Lorentzen [CWSL58]:

Agenttucks/pulls up his clothes'.
This usage is transitive, and the Object seems to indicate the clothes.
This usage is not mentioned in Oqaatsit [CBBJRPIKJR97], so it may not be productive nowadays.
