Description and behaviour
Form and usage:
The meaning of this stem is 'Actor grows', i.e. grows forth from something.
It is mainly used of plants growing forth from the earth, but also be leaves or flowers growing forth from the stem.
According to Kleinschmidt [SK71], it can also be used of humans, growing forth from their parents; events developing out of the times or situation; or a number growing out of a sequence etc.
Right sandhi:
The parenthetical segment (g) is not normally present, but a reflex of it may appear if a geminating affix is added, which causes /g/ to geminate to /gg/. Consider for example {na(g)u}V + V{'-rik}V + V{IND.3sg} ⇒ naggorippoq, 'it is fertile'.
