Description and behaviour
Form and usage:
According to Kleinschmidt [SK71], the meaning of this stem is: 'Agent dries Patient'.
If used intransitively, the meaning becomes passive: 'Patient=Actor is dry', i.e. 'has dried'.
None of the other dictionaries [CWSL58], [CBBJRPIKJR97] record the transitive usage, but only the intransitive usage, so that is clearly the most common.
Inflection
Inflection pattern:
| Stem type: | q-stem |
| Inflection sandhi: | Default/none |
Meanings and examples
The passive meaning ('is dry', i.e. 'has dried') is with intransitive usage. That is the most common usage.
