Description and behaviour
Form and usage:
The meaning of this stem is 'Actor speaks'.
The thing spoken about can optionally be given in the instrumental case. However, note that a modifier of the verbal action can also be given in the instrumental case as usual, e.g. nipikitsumik oqaluppoq 'he speaks quietly', and not 'he speaks about something quiet'.
According to the Comparative Eskimo Dictionary [MFSJLK10], it derives from {uqaq}V, 'to say something'. The origin of second part, -luk, is however not clear.
