Description and behaviour


Form and usage:

This is the ergative unmarked singular ending used on ip-declined stems (regular/strong stems). Note that this is rare, and the stems using it probably used to be up-declined.

For the ending used on p-declined stems (weak stems) see N{p}, and for the form used on up-declined nouns see N{-up}.


Left sandhi:

On strong stems, the ending may cause metathesis, or it may weaken the stem-final consonant rather than removing it.
