Description and behaviour

Form and usage:

This is the intransitive iterative ending for 3pl Subject, formed from the mood marker {gaaŋ} and the 3pl person marker {ata}. The iterative mood marker is {gaaŋa}, and {gaaŋ} when the subject is the 3rd person. It seems to have been derived from the PI morpheme +{gaa}V and the causative mood marker {ga}, which in the case of the 3rd person is {(m)m}, or possibly {(ŋ)m} (as indicated by the old orthography).

Note that this is a dependent mood, and it uses the ergative person markers cf. the ergative possessive 3pl ending N{-ata}.
