Form and usage:

This is the intransitive imperative 1pl ending. The mood marker is {Ø}, so this ending is the pure 1pl person marker. This marker is probably originally from {tə}, but with /ə/ having taken the sound [a] in this context.

The meaning of the ending is 'let us Vb!', and note that this is an inclusive 'us', i.e. including both the speaker and the addressee. Thus, it is a mutual exhortation. For the corresponding exclusive 1pl ending, see the optative 1pl ending V{lata}.
