Description and behaviour

Form and usage:

According to [MFSJLK10], this morpheme can be used as both a nominal and a verbal stem, and it has two meanings: 'big' (when used as a nominal stem), and 'a lot' (when used as a verbal stem).

The authors also hypothesise that it may be from a combination of +{ðug}N + +{ar}N. We adopt this hypothesis here, and record it as a combination. This is also consistent with the behaviour of the descendant of this affix in Kalaallisut, which drops its final /aq/ in certain contexts and instead behaves as a k-stem. These forms are presumably directly from +{ðug}N (with stem-final PE /g/ becoming /k/ in Kalaallisut).
