Description and behaviour

Form and usage:

This is one of the morphemes used to form the passive participle of transitive verbs. Hence, it was likely only used on verbal stems.

According to the authors of [MFSJLK10], /ð/ probably alternated with /t/ already in PE, and then seemingly either /g/ (follwing /VV/), /j/ or /c/ in the daughter languages. The various descendants of this affix are suppletive with the descendants of +{kar}N in at least some of the Inuit languages, suggesting that this suppletion may have been present at least in PI.
