General

Morphemic form: {acci}N (Combinations)
New orthography: assi
Proto-eskimoic root: atə(ði)
Variants: {accək}N
Morpheme type: Noun base
Right sandhi: None

Description

Form and usage:

The two modern-day variants of {accik}N. Some regard the stem as a weak q-stem and may thus say asseq in ABS.sg. This form, with a final (weak) /q/ may sometime be seen, but it is not officially recognised in the DAKA-dictionary, which only lists the vowel-stem form. The form with a final weak /q/ is also not used for further derivation; only the vowel-stem form is (e.g. assigaa, assigiipput), so I do not record the weak-q form as a separate form.
