Form and usage:

The meaning of this affix is 'almost Vb'ing' or 'more or less Vb'ing', 'half-Vb'ing' etc. It also has two nominal variants, V{-ŋajak}N and N{-ŋajak}N, but the present, verbal variant is the most commonly used.

    From nutaarpoq, 'it is new'.

  • inersimangajapoq, he is almost an adult [11]

    Or 'he is almost fully grown/developed.' From inersimavoq, 'he is grown-up/adult', cf. inersimasoq, 'adult'.

  • napparsimangajattoq, someone who is poorly/unwell [11]

    From napparsimavoq, 'he is ill'.
