Description and behaviour

Form and usage:

According to Kleinschmidt [13], the basic meaning of this stem is 'Agent is attentive to Patient' or 'Agent listens to what Patient says'. However, the meaning often becomes 'Agent obeys Patient', and this is the general meaning used today.

The stem can also be used intransitively, in which case the meaning becomes 'Agent is obedient'. In this case, the object can optionally be indicated in the allative case."
