Form and usage:
The meaning of this affix is: 'Subject never Vb'.
Thus, it is equivalent to the construction V{nəq ajuq}V.
The affix appears to be a combination of V{ŋŋit}V, 'not', and V{-(g)innaq}V, 'only/just'. The origin of the middle segment /sa/ is unclear. Schultz-Lorentzen [16] says it is from -sarpoĸ, but does not specify which affix this is (as there is no affix of this form in his list). The closest match is -sarpâ, i.e. V{saq}V, but this affix is not truncative, so this does not explain why the final /t/ is missing from the first constituent. Instead, I propose that the middle segment must be V{sa}V, 'be in a state of', which indeed appears to be t-truncative, thus fitting with the present form.
