Description and behaviour

Form and usage:

This affix is a variant of V{(q)cuq}V, but here used on nominal bases. According to the Comparative Eskimo Dictionary [MFSJLK10], the meaning is 'work with or on N'. However, the examples given in Oqaatsit [CBBJRPIKJR97] seem to suggest a somewhat different meaning: 'Actor uses N', which is the one we shall record here.

There might be a relation, at least w.r.t. meaning, to the older (now non-productive) meaning of the affix N{tuq}V, i.e. 'use N'.
