Form and usage:

This is a non-productive variant of V{-(cc)utə}N found in some lexicalised constructions. The meaning is the same, however: 'tool/means for Vb'ing'. Furthermore, this affix also appears in lexicalised combinations with other affixes, where it may denote 'reason for Vb'ing' or 'time when Vb'ing', similar to the variant V{-(cc)utə}N.
