Description and behaviour
Form and usage:
The meaning of this affix is 'Vb for once/at least'. There may be a relation to N{-tuaq}N, 'the only/sole N', although the proto-eskimoic reconstructed form in the Comparative Eskimo Dictionary [MFSJLK10] indicates that they are two different morphemes. There is also a combination with V{llaq}V, i.e. V{llatuaq}V, with seemingly no difference in meaning.
Left sandhi:
The forms with initial /s/ in the new/old orthography are caused by assibilation by a preceding /i/ (the t-to-s rule).
