Inflection sandhi:
Inflection sandhi is inherited from the right-most component, V{ŋŋit}V. See this for details.
Meanings and examples
Only with monovalent stems, according to Nielsen [FAJN19].
- aneqqusaanngilaq, he must not go out; he is forbidden to go out
[FAJN19]
From anivoq, 'he exits; goes out'.
- atoqqusaanngilaq, it must not be used
[FAJN19]
From atorpaa, 'he uses it'. Note that this is a patientive stem, i.e. atorpoq, 'it is used', so it seems that the stem has dropped its
Agentrole before this affix. - ammarneqaqqusaanngilaq, it must not be opened; it is forbidden to open it
[FAJN19]
From ammarpaa, 'he opens it' and the passivising affix V{nəqaq}V.
