Description and behaviour

Form and usage:

This is a spatial/directional stem, usually only used with allative case, or else with possessive endings.

The meaning is 'area in front (of Possessor)'. However, according to Kleinschmidt [SK71], the stem is not used on its own (i.e. without an affix) in this sense, except with a possessive ending, siua, 'its front/foremost part', and with the allative singular ending, i.e. siumut, 'forward', or 'before' (in a temporal sense). Otherwise, if used with without these endings, the meaning is 'front/bow of a kayak'.
