Description and behaviour
Form and usage:
The meaning of this stem is 'Agent ascends/climbs up on Patient'.
The stem is apparently agentive, so when used with intransitive endings, the meaning remains active: 'Agent=Actor ascends/climbs up (on Patient@ALL)', and the Patient can optionally be added in the allative case (rather than the usual instrumental).
Alternatively, Ordbogeeraq [JP67] and Oqaatsit [CBBJRPIKJR97] also give a HTR-form, qaqisivoq.
It is not clear why/when the HTR form would be preferred (with Patient in the instrumental case) , instead of just using intransitive endings with the Patient in the allative case.
Notable forms:
-
HTR:
{qaqə}V + V{ði}V ⇒ /qaqəci/
The HTR-form is listed in Ordbogeeraq [JP67] (old orthography: ĸaĸissivoĸ), and in Oqaatsit [CBBJRPIKJR97].
