Form and usage:
The meaning of this affix is 'Subject suddenly becomes Vb'ing'.
It appears to mainly (or only) be used with verbs stems denoting feelings, moods, emotions, to indicate that the Subject suddenly shifts that state of mind.
There is also a variant form, V{-Vmmiq}V, with the same meaning, but with a lengthening of the preceding vowel, instead of the initial /u/.
The two forms appear to be used interchangeably.
Right sandhi:
According to Ordbogeeraq [11] , the true /i/ in the stem will assibilate a following /t/ to /s/. For example ersiúmerpoĸ, ersiúmersoĸ with the intransitive participle V{ðuq}N.
