Description and behaviour

Form and usage:

This affix is formed through a straightforward combination of V{naviiq}V and V{saq}V. The meaning is 'Agent strives to prevent Patient from Vb'ing', i.e. the Agent does something to make it impossible for the Patient to Vb. According to Kleinschmidt (1871), it is sometimes used interchangeably with V{t(s)aili}V, although that affix just means 'prevent', whereas the present affix additionally implies that the Agent actively is taking preventive measures.
