The meaning of this affix is 'Actor fetches N'. According to Nielsen [FAJN19], it is not commonly used nowadays.

According to the Comparative Eskimo Dictionary, it derives from the Proto-Inuit morpheme +{ituq}V, where the /t/ must have been assibilated to /s/ by the preceding /i/.
