Description and behaviour

Form and usage:

The meaning of this affix is '(several) Actors compete at being the most Vb'ing'. As indicated by Schultz-Lorentzen [9], it appears to contain the morpheme V{nəq}N in the superlative sense, 'the most Vb'ing'. The middle segment is unknown; I suspect part of it may be V{saq}V, 'strive to', but this is only an hypothesis. The final part is V{-(cc)ut(ə)}V, which is here used in the reflexive/reciprocal sense, 'several Actors Vb together'.

Note that, given the meaning, the affix can only be used with plural endings. Note also the affix V{lqainniuut(ə)}V, which appears to have a similar meaning.

Left sandhi:

Left sandhi is inherited from the left-most component, V{nəq}N. See this for details.

Right sandhi:

Right sandhi is inherited from the right-most component, V{-(cc)ut(ə)}V. See this for details.

Inflection sandhi:

Inflection sandhi is inherited from the right-most component, V{-(cc)ut(ə)}V. See this for details.
