Description and behaviour

Form and usage:

This affix is a combination of V{nqik}V, here in the sense of 'completely', and V{saaq}V, 'makes an effort to'. The combined meaning is 'Subject carefully Vb'. According to Kleinschmidt [9], it is most commonly used with divalent stems, but the Oqaatsit dictionary [14] also gives examples with intransitive endings - either of stems that have been detransitivised with a HTR-morpheme, or of divalent stems that are used reflexively.
