Given the meaning, it seems to be an old combination of V{tətəq}V and V{-aq}V, where the combination /əa/ has yielded [aa], thus indicating that the combination must be old (since stem-internal /ə/ normally do not change their sound, even of the following phoneme changes due to affixing).
